Due to the current restrictions and suggested limitations on travel and interactions with others, the CAT Board has decided to conduct all our meetings virtually. Please see president’s email for instructions to join monthly meetings and demonstrations via Zoom.

We wish everyone the very best of health throughout these difficult times.

If you would like to join us for our next Zoom event meeting, please contact us via president@catoctinareaturners.org

Welcome to Catoctin Area Turners

Catoctin Area Turners (CAT) is located in Leesburg, VA.  Established in 2009, we are a group of enthusiasts dedicated to the craft of woodturning.  Our mission is to advance the art of woodturning by educating our members and the public, enhancing the skills of our members and promoting the awareness of safety.  This is accomplished by encouraging, providing, and facilitating the establishment of training programs for woodturners; disseminating information about technique, safety, sources of material and equipment; exposing the art of woodturning to the public; and serving as a center of information about woodturning.

CAT is a local chapter of the American Association of Woodturners.

CAT monthly meeting

Catoctin Area Turners (CAT) has joined other Loudoun County non-profit organizations to participate in this year’s Give Choose event. This will be the second year CAT has participated.

Give Choose is a 24-hour day of giving organized by the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties to benefit local charities serving our community.
The overall goal is to inspire our community to come together to give generously to charities that make our community the best place to grow up and grow old.

This year the Give Choose 24-hour donation period is March 16th and the early donation period is March 2-15. CAT has established a goal of $2,500. These funds will be used to support our Community Outreach Initiatives, maintain our existing equipment and assist the club in bringing high quality professionals turners to the membership for demonstrations. You can find the CAT page at the Give Choose website, www.givechoose.org, under the Education category and directly at GiveChoose :: Catoctin Area Turners.
More information about Give/Choose will be published as we get closer to the event date.

Please, mark your calendars and be ready to give! Feel free to pass our donation link to others.
